GDANSK (II)

(Versión en inglés, en castellano más abajo)

Yes, I know you guessed yesterday: we went to Sök again. Only one bad point about the restaurant: a little cold inside (maybe because the main door didn't close very well indeed).

These evening, a little rest, but not so much: Enough to get strength and... Time for Halloween! I designed my own make-up:
Just three layers in Photoshop, a little bit of red lines and...voilà

And Lenka, Metin & Me, Metin's:
Now it doesn't seem so scary...

The process:

And these are the results:

Fight in the kitchen...
... and dance in the club. Here we are REALLY scaring

Girls... You know, they pretend to be scary, but indeed they were more "sexy". Drawing a spider on the skin it's funny, but doesn't fear anybody. But I would never complain: as I said before, all of them were more "sexy", so...

At least Martha wore in black!
I was hungry...

But finally, we left the hostal to...Yes, Sopot! Again by night, but these night was for party! so we reached Plac Zdrojowy, where the club is. Inside, two levels. Metin and me didn't enjoy the first one: too crowded, so we just went upstairs and discovered a terrace with great views to the seaside, with R&B music and enough people to feel into a party, but not too much to feel like in the Subway of Tokyo. Great time, but we splitted before reach one of the night trains that came back to Gdansk. What happened then? Marina, Martha, Metin and me shared a taxi because as the typicall movie scene, we lost the trains just for seconds. Inside the taxi, interesting conversation about the differences between the conventions about introducing people. Finally, at the hostal, we remove all the make-up, I took ashower and went to sleep.

Next day was day for Westerplatte -the place where the II World War started- and to visit a cemetery in Oliwa (neighborhood of Gdansk), because it was first of november. Annika and Melanie weren't with us these morning because Melanie's train reservation was at 12.00.

If pictures could be listened, this one would sound like five deep breathings.

After we got the Guiness Record visiting Westerplatte monument (18' 55'', bus stop-monument-bus stop), again in Gdansk to meet Annika. We take a little walk, saw amber shops and after that... Sök again! And that's not irony, every day was better than the last. And there we meet Celine and Tassilo again (it was not the first time, but believe me, if I had to explain all the little details, you know, I would need maybe twenty entries).

It was evident that the meal in Sök wasn't enough (yes, that is irony), so we repeated and we went to the café-patisserie where we were on saturday. After being ignored by Marina (Miriam would never do that!), we enjoyed coffe, cakes and cookies. Lenka discovered that sometimes a black banana is not a black banana (ask her), and everybody was agree that our trip was a little like a tasting trip: coffees, cakes, hot wine, hot beer, polish food, polish vodka...

After that, not so much to tell: we said goodbye to Annika (we will miss you, freekled girl!). Hugs, kisses, and we returned to the hostal to take the luggage.

We wish we see U soon!

When we took place in our sleeper wagon, the oposite polish character of the mean guy in the first trip, a kind pregnant young woman didn't care to change her place with Martha's (because two of them was in the lowest level and Martha's was in first class, to be fair). So Martha, Miriam, Metin and Me (if I write that way is like "4-M"... but wait, it cannot be translated) played a turkish card game while Lenka listened music and Charlotta help us. At twelve o'clock all of us were sleeping...

And then we got Krakow... Thank you for readin' all the update, next in few days!

Halloween! Me diseñé mi propio maquillaje:

Sólo tres capas de Photoshop, unas cuantas lineas rojas y... voilá

I Lenka, Metin y yo, el de Metin:
Ahora no me parece tan escalofríante....

If pictures could be listened, this one would sound like five deep breathings.

Y luego llegamos a Cracovia...

GDANSK (I)

(Versión en inglés. En castellano más abajo)

Maybe I could name that update 'for sure', but then only the members of this - at least to me- unforgettable trip would had understood the joke. So it is, Gdansk.

First: Thank you Annika, Charlotta, Lenka, Martha, Melanie, Metin & Miriam. And also Celine & Tassilo and their unexpected appearences in Kös. The most important part of that trip has been the people, and has been an amazing, varied and funny trip. So do your logic stuff...

Annika, Charlotta, Martha, Miriam-Marina, Lenka, Homeless guy and Metin.

We also discovered new things about the Polish trains, a world in itself: There's toiletts even more disgusting than these in Kitsch, and they are in the trains...; To fit schedules, there's a lot of stops with a wide variety of stopping time; The sleeper wagon (second class except for hour last-minute acquisition, Martha... lucky you!) was kind of relative with a human-cookin' bakery, but actually it was not so bad: now I feel like more sensible about the muffins, cakes, loafs, cookies and whatever that cames from an oven.

We arrived Gdansk at 12.00, so just time for let the things in the hostal Universus, that I highly recommend. After that, what? To visit something? no... Annika telled us about a restaurant that serves the most filled dishes that I can remember: Sök ( Ok, my memory isnt' soooo good, but no need to believe, if you visit Gdansk, try it!). By the way, they have a dish called Medaliony z indyczki po Katalońsku. Medallions of turkey in the Catalonian style... It was, of course, my election.

After that (or before? I told you that my memory sucks... or I didn't? Arghhh!) we visited a little bit the Old City. Well, I was drawing while all the group was walking a little bit, just enough to make a little space in their stomachs... because there's a nice café where you can choose and enjoy a lot of cakes, cookies and pies. In Długa street. Name? I told you that my memory sucks?

Martha & Miriam-Martha digesting cakes. Certainly this purple pants has kind of wine color.

These night Annika invited us to join her in her flat to a pre-party. Nice chat in a little kitchen, more german girls (Magda & Carolina) and after... Party in the Faculty! It could seems like the name of an american teenager movie, but not: Annika studies in a universitary building where they have a huge room ONLY for clubbing. In fact, besides the club, there's the buffet-café of the faculty. Wall to wall. Believe me!

Marina smiles not because of my face. Actually because these façade contains a club!
(Ok, not this façade, but it was in the same building!)

Sunday: Malbork Castle. Just check it. This visit justifies by itself all the trip. After these big amount of history, culture and architecture, we decided to digest it taking the lunch in the town, five minutes walking far away from the castle. The restaurant: Andaluzja. They served turkish food and pizzas. Cultural poutpurri. Anyway...Is the pizza the more spreaded dish in the world?

But rich as we are, we liked to take the coffe in Sopot, a touristic town 20 minutes of train away from Gdansk with the greatest wooden pier in Europe, nice places to take hot beers & wines, a crooked house but... we coudn't enjoy the landscape. Night had fallen.

So what can we do? Coming back at monday morning, enjoy again going for a walk in the pier, buy some amber jewelry, and a coffee, of course. I have to admit that it was a good decision to visit Sopot by daylight. But we missed Kös so... guess what?

Annika, Charlotta & Melanie in Sopot.
Minutes after taking this picture I met them surrounded by amber stuff.

Yes, I know that you've guessed. Let me to go on tomorrow...

Primero: Gracias Annika, Charlotta, Lenka, Martha, Melanie, Metin & Miriam.

Visitar algo? no...

Martha & Miriam-Martha digeriendo pasteles.
